Landscape renovation

concrete block

Surface cherry tree root buckling paver walk-way and headed to damage home needed removed. Watered while worked on, it should make it. Like trimming toenails.
Large surface roots can be an indication of poor drainage.

The combination of plastic(installed for weed-prevention)
and clay-like packed soil under 3"+ of pea gravel
created water to pool under the gravel.
The roots are goin' for it. If a person lays rock thick enough,
plastic is not needed. An occasional weed will pop regardless.
A cloth-like weed barrier is a better choice if the layer of decorative
material is thin or the material is bark-like.
